Automation Specialist

LHH is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join their team at a manufacturing client located near Martinsville, IN. This permanent placement position offers a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and resolve process operating problems and machine faults, investigate equipment failures, and provide technical assistance to production floor staff.
• Troubleshoot PLC-based machinery and conduct follow-up on resolutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment-related issues and contribute to the design, improvement, and implementation of automation throughout the facility.
• Upgrade obsolete controls and programming on existing equipment, identify and repair system issues, sensors, and equipment, and program and maintain HMI at each production center/cell.
• Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to develop a shared vision for daily engineering tasks and report on activities.
• Ensure all safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum 2+ years of controls and/or automation engineering experience within a manufacturing environment is required.
• Ability to troubleshoot using Allen Bradley PLCs is mandatory.
• Experience with Ladder Logic, project leadership, and design systems is desired.
• Strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills are essential.
