Psychiatric Technician

CATCH, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Lehigh House LTSR/Partial Hospital. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in providing behavioral health and residential services to individuals with serious mental illness.
Responsibilities:- Assist in developing and implementing individual plans for consumers, preparing them for transition to less structured residential/treatment programs.
- Provide counseling and training for target populations, facilitating interaction among consumers and leading group activities.
- Assist consumers with learning and achieving activities of daily living, completing all documentation as instructed.
- Prepare meals and supervise consumers during meal preparation, taking them on off-unit trips in the community.
- Transport consumers in Agency vans, requiring a valid PA Driver's license.
- Attend monthly treatment team meetings, departmental staff meetings, in-service trainings, and other meetings/trainings as directed by the Associate Director.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary, performing all other duties as assigned by the Associate Director.
- High School Diploma (or equivalency) plus twelve (12) college credit hours from an approved educational program.
- Psychiatric experience in either an inpatient setting or an emergency services setting.
- Minimum of 6 months experience working in the behavioral health field.

This job operates out of the Lehigh House LTSR/Partial Hospital on Lehigh Avenue.
Physical Demands:The Psychiatric Technician must have the physical ability to:
- Frequently climb stairs
- Stand and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Carry heavy items
- Bend, kneel, and reach
- Passively restrain individuals in emergency situations
