Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable VDS Delivery Driver to join our team at Villanova University. As a key member of our Dining Services Operations team, you will be responsible for transporting food, supplies, and equipment to various locations on campus and occasionally off campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport food, equipment, supplies, uniforms, and paperwork to and from all units on campus and occasionally off campus as needed.
  • Deliver all daily cash deposits to the Bursar's Office and be responsible for delivering all change orders to units as needed.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading food and supplies prior to transporting and from vendor trucks as needed.
  • Responsible for picking up, receiving, and transporting liquor from the Wine and Spirit store for catered events.
  • Responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the trucks and coordinating all preventative maintenance and repairs for all Dining Service vehicles.
  • Train new drivers as required to be in compliance with risk management and safe driving standards.
  • Transport personnel between units as needed.
  • Required to work special events, including weekends and late nights, as mandatory overtime.
Requirements
  • High School diploma
  • Valid Driver License required with a good driving record and no traffic violations
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and be flexible as needed
  • Customer service oriented
  • General knowledge of vehicle maintenance, tires, oil, and pumping gas
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs independently, including pushing and pulling of carts, hand trucks, and flatbeds
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods
  • Ability to withstand extreme temperatures, hot/cold, and work in all weather conditions
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
