We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Clinical Unit Supervisor for our Medical Surgical and Telemetry Nursing care unit. As a Clinical Unit Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient-centered care, while also managing the unit's operations and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and direct the delivery of patient care, ensuring that it is safe, effective, and efficient.
- Assign patient beds and determine staffing needs, taking into account patient condition, physician orders, and unit capacity.
- Assign break times and relieve licensed personnel for breaks, ensuring compliance with Title 22 regulations.
- Deliver direct patient care as needed, in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of a staff Registered Nurse.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to regulatory standards and Patient Safety Goals.
- Act as a role model for staff, promoting service excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve complaints and conflicts involving patients, visitors, and physicians.
- Assist with the interview process and make recommendations for new hires.
- Contribute to the counseling process and assist with performance evaluations.
- Participate in the implementation of the unit's Quality and Performance Improvement Plan.
- Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
- Minimum three years of clinical nursing experience in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing, with at least one year of Clinical Unit Supervisor experience.
- Current California Nursing license.
- Certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
- Basic EKG Competence.
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
- Basic computer skills.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record preferred.
