Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Clinical Unit Supervisor for our Medical Surgical and Telemetry Nursing care unit. As a Clinical Unit Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient-centered care, while also managing the unit's operations and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and direct the delivery of patient care, ensuring that it is safe, effective, and efficient.
  • Assign patient beds and determine staffing needs, taking into account patient condition, physician orders, and unit capacity.
  • Assign break times and relieve licensed personnel for breaks, ensuring compliance with Title 22 regulations.
  • Deliver direct patient care as needed, in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of a staff Registered Nurse.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to regulatory standards and Patient Safety Goals.
  • Act as a role model for staff, promoting service excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve complaints and conflicts involving patients, visitors, and physicians.
  • Assist with the interview process and make recommendations for new hires.
  • Contribute to the counseling process and assist with performance evaluations.
  • Participate in the implementation of the unit's Quality and Performance Improvement Plan.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years of clinical nursing experience in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing, with at least one year of Clinical Unit Supervisor experience.
  • Current California Nursing license.
  • Certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
  • Basic EKG Competence.
  • Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record preferred.
