Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cross Connection Control Specialist to join our team at the City of Waxahachie, TX. As a key member of our Utilities department, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities of cross-connection control programs, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately log backflow and grease waste manifests into database or software
  • Respond to inquiries, explain and interpret state and local requirements and restrictions, and maintain accurate files and records
  • Investigate complaints from the general public and other departments, regarding cross connection, backflow installations grease trap inspections, and other programs as assigned
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures
  • Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner
Requirements
  • High School diploma or G.E.D
  • Additional education or training in Customer Service, Inspections course, Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers (BPAT) course, or Water Supply Protection course
  • One year of experience inspecting/documenting backflow prevention installations
  • A valid State driver's license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment
Working Conditions

The employee works in outdoor conditions while traveling from site to site and conducting inspections. Certain positions within the classification may require availability to work a flexible schedule.
