The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering patient care under the supervision of a physician. This position is integral to the healthcare team, ensuring the highest quality of care is provided to patients by preparing and assessing them for medical visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to address patient and family needs.
- Implement care plans by delivering direct basic nursing services in accordance with LPN practice standards.
- Properly label and package specimens as per training.
- Provide indirect care through various clerical or administrative tasks as directed by registered nurses.
- Serve as a chaperone for healthcare providers during patient examinations when requested.
- Assist providers with medical procedures, treatments, and interventions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure or LPN applicant status.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of clinical patient care experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills & Competencies:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients of all ages.
- Proficient in using a computer-based patient appointment scheduling and registration system.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
