ROLE SUMMARY
Vanguard Integrity Professionals is seeking a skilled Senior Software Developer specializing in IBM iSeries (AS/400). The ideal candidate will join a team of experts to engage in intricate product design, systems analysis, and programming tasks that may necessitate comprehensive research and development efforts. This position involves advanced bug analysis, troubleshooting, verification, release testing, and beta support for designated products. This is a senior-level role that operates with minimal supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Software Developer – IBM iSeries (AS/400), your responsibilities will include:
- Proficient development in RPG-IV ILE and free/CLLE/SQL/DDM.
- Expertise in IBM Rational Developer for IBM I.
- Working knowledge of XML and HTML for text I/O in local IFS stream files.
- Understanding of i5/OS DB2/STMF/DTAQ data flows and command APIs, focusing on encryption and security.
- Leading the design and implementation of significant new software features.
- Participating in the Peer Review process with colleagues.
- Maintaining and supporting existing product functionality throughout its lifecycle.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
- Extensive experience in designing and developing complex software applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in software development for IBM iSeries (also known as i5/OS or OS/400) on HMC managed IBM Power Systems.
- Preferred experience in security software systems development.
- Ability to quickly learn new applications and technologies.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Capacity to plan and execute tasks independently as well as collaboratively.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Background in IBM Mainframe (z/OS, z/VM) as a user, administrator, or programmer is a plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary range: $75,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience.
