Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Wind Energy Specialist to join our team at the Number Three Wind Energy Center in Lowville, NY. As a Wind Energy Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our wind power generation facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Routine Maintenance

Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Climb Wind Turbine Towers

Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.

Understand Electrical and Mechanical Functions

Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment to troubleshoot and repair issues.

Troubleshoot and Repair

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.

Maintain Company Equipment

Maintain company tooling, facilities, and equipment, and ensure a clean and safe work environment.

Work Schedule

Work a 40-hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime during peak maintenance periods.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience

High school degree or equivalent and one (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.

Physical Demands

Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).

Physical Abilities

Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds) and weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job-related tasks.

Driver's License

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Eligibility

Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
