Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance and repairs in the boiler room, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and ladder safety.
  • Repair, rebuild, and replace pumps as necessary.
  • Perform general cleaning and painting tasks.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel and assist coworkers as required.
  • Maintain professional and ethical interactions with colleagues.
  • Adhere to departmental and company protocols.
  • Ensure regular attendance and punctuality, essential for operational efficiency.
  • Complete necessary reports and submit them to relevant state and federal agencies.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the business.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a Massachusetts Second Class Engineer License is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Experience ranging from zero to six months is acceptable.
  • Minimal travel (less than 5%) is expected.

Physical Requirements

Constantly (over 2/3 of the time):

  • Ability to position oneself to maintain equipment in confined or tight spaces.
  • Capable of navigating around industrial machinery within a manufacturing environment.
  • Utilization of maintenance and mechanical tools, including electrical hand tools.
  • Ability to identify equipment needing repair, cleaning, or painting.

Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time):

  • Use tools for adjustments and repairs.
  • Transport materials and equipment weighing up to 70 lbs, with or without specialized lifting equipment.
  • Move across wet, slippery, and uneven surfaces.
  • Ascend and descend heights while maintaining balance.

Occasionally (under 1/3 of the time):

  • Ability to move and transport materials and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to follow directions during equipment operation.
