The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our team at the Memphis VA Medical Center. This is a unique opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility with a dual academic affiliation appointment with the University of Tennessee.
About the PositionWe are looking for a highly experienced and responsible Cardiothoracic Surgeon to provide pre-operative, operative, and postoperative care to patients with various pathological conditions of the heart and related blood vessels and structures within the chest. The ideal candidate will have expertise in minimally invasive thoracic surgery and valve reconstruction, as well as experience in clinical activities supporting multi-disciplinary programs in chest oncology, research, teaching, and training residents/fellows.
Responsibilities- Provide pre-operative, operative, and postoperative care to patients with various pathological conditions of the heart and related blood vessels and structures within the chest.
- Responsible for the care of patients with congenital and acquired pathologic conditions within the chest to include the heart, coronary arteries, myocardium, pericardium, lungs, esophagus, chest wall, and diaphragm.
- Experienced and responsible for minimally invasive thoracic surgery and valve reconstruction.
- Responsible for clinical activities supporting multi-disciplinary programs in chest oncology, research, teaching, and training residents/fellows.
