Transformational Leader Sought for Pediatric Surgery Division

We are seeking a visionary and experienced surgical leader to serve as Chief, Pediatric Surgery and Surgeon-in-Chief at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. As a key member of the Department of Surgery, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of pediatric surgery and advancing the hospital's reputation as a leader in academic pediatric surgery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Pediatric Surgery Division and develop a strategic vision for clinical growth and excellence.
  • Collaborate with the Chair of Surgery, Le Bonheur President, and Vice President of Regional Services and Strategy to drive departmental initiatives and achieve hospital-wide goals.
  • Develop and implement a surgical strategy that advances the regional and national reputation of Le Bonheur's surgical services and impacts the communities it serves.
  • Foster relationships with community physicians, mentor and grow faculty, and enhance collaborative programs.
  • Promote collegial and collaborative working relationships between the surgical subspecialty services, anesthesiology, and nursing.
Requirements:
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree and academic leadership experience and accomplishments commensurate with process qualifications for a UT College of Medicine faculty appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Professor.
  • Qualifications to obtain an unrestricted medical license from the State of Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Demonstrated leadership success in a complex, multi-faceted academic medical center, with proven skills in strategy and implementation and a strong personal and professional commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop talent in all missions with unquestionable integrity, personal ethics, and outstanding communication skills.
