Bridge Superintendent

William Charles Construction, a leading heavy civil construction company, is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Superintendent to join their team in Springfield, IL. As a key member of the construction team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction of bridges and other infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend pre-job meetings and review project scopes with the Project Manager and Area Manager
- Set up job sites prior to project commencement and ensure all necessary equipment and materials are on site
- Coordinate with IDOT, inspectors, subcontractors, and owners to ensure smooth project execution
- Supervise on-site employees and ensure all work is completed according to specifications
- Manage local union relationships and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies
- Complete daily timesheets, safe cards, and other required paperwork
- Generate a two-week look-ahead schedule and verify utility locates before excavation
Requirements:
- Minimum GED or High School Diploma
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Bridge Superintendent or related field
