The Clinical Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant role is a critical position in the healthcare industry, requiring a unique blend of clinical expertise and interpersonal skills. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting thorough assessments, and developing effective treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine and follow-up exams on patients, including medical interviews and assessments to determine their health status or potential health risks.
- Record vital signs and enter information into patient medical records via electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Evaluate and interpret results of diagnostic and lab tests to develop treatment plans, including prescribing and administering medication or treatment to patients.
- Provide additional education and information to patients on issues such as family planning, disease prevention, and adolescent health.
- Engage in activities designed to ensure professional development, awareness of developments in the field, and knowledge of relevant practices, rules, laws, policies, and/or guidelines.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An active license as a Physician's Assistant by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners or a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.
- Certified Nurse Practitioner from a national certifying agency recognized by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- A Master's degree in advanced practice nursing from an accredited program recognized by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Advanced Life Support Certification
- Experience working in ambulatory care
- Experience working within specialty healthcare (e.g., cardiology, oncology, urgent care)
- Experience using outpatient electronic medical records (EMRs)
This role involves working primarily within medical or healthcare facilities, using medical tools and equipment necessary for the care and/or diagnosis of healthcare patients. You may be exposed to a variety of adverse working conditions, including exposure to bodily fluids and other bio-hazard materials, and exposure to contagious or infectious diseases.
Physical DemandsThis role requires physical exertion for sustained periods of light physical activity, such as walking or standing, and may involve occasional lifting of items or objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
