We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at Illinois School District U-46. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our students, staff, and community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to students, staff, and families, including health assessments, emergency care, and health education.
- Develop and implement Student Health Plans to ensure the safety and health of students with health concerns.
- Participate in Communicable Disease reporting and prevention efforts in schools.
- Administer medications and provide health-related information to parents and physicians as needed.
- Identify and provide community healthcare resources to students and families.
- Document health office visits, student physicals, and immunizations accurately and maintain records for compliance with state requirements.
- Report statistical data to relevant authorities for mandated health programs.
- Associate, Bachelor's, or Master's degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Current certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Ability to make independent health care decisions.
- Good organizational skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
This is a 10-month position with a salary and benefits package as established by the Board of Education. The nurse will work in a variety of school settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools, with occasional travel between locations.
