The position is responsible for overseeing the administration of First National Bank's Internal Audit department standards, methodology, and quality assurance and improvement program (QAIP) in accordance with the IIA's International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. This role is critical in ensuring the effective implementation of internal audit practices and maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement internal audit standards, methodologies, and quality assurance and improvement programs (QAIP) in accordance with the IIA's International Standards.
  • Oversee the administration of internal audit practices, including the development of audit plans, risk assessments, and audit procedures.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of internal audit practices and maintain the highest standards of quality and professionalism within the department.
  • Collaborate with internal audit team members to ensure the successful completion of audit assignments and the achievement of departmental goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure the department remains current and compliant.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of internal audit standards, methodologies, and quality assurance and improvement programs (QAIP).
  • Proven experience in internal audit leadership or management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
