About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join our team at ENGIE North America. As a key member of our renewable energy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our solar generation sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or SAP software systems and perform technical repair work orders for solar panels.
  • Manage documentation, update parts inventory, and submit on-site status reports.
  • Coordinate high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO).
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program with a focus on AC/DC electrical theory, reading blue prints and schematics, and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites, Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification by AVO as substation technician within 12 months of hire date.
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor.
Additional Details
  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s).
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE's policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
