Job Overview

As a Metal Fabrication Technician, you will engage with various machinery to manufacture components essential for our operations. This role involves utilizing a range of manual, automated, and computerized equipment, including but not limited to punch presses, mills, drills, tapping machines, grinders, and sanders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Core Values: Adhere to Andis Company’s fundamental values in all work-related tasks.
  • Material Handling: Efficiently move, stage, or store components using hand carts. Lift parts bins to designated work areas or pallets as necessary. When trained, operate hoists, pallet jacks, or forklifts to facilitate machine setup and material movement.
  • Preparation and Setup: Based on provided routings, select and apply appropriate belts, wheels, wear plates, and other components to prepare for operations. Adjust machine speeds and utilize hand tools as needed.
  • Machine Operation: Follow established protocols to load and unload components. Use controls to activate machinery and monitor operations for efficiency.
  • Quality Inspection: Conduct visual inspections of workpieces to identify defects. Measure components using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges, completing necessary documentation.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning of machinery, including the removal of scrap materials and maintaining a tidy workspace.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety guards are in place and operational before equipment use. Report any irregularities and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Team Participation: Engage in problem-solving initiatives, experimental operations, or new equipment task groups as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
