Job Title: Assistant Controller, Development

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team at SNI Companies. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of our residential and commercial properties.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee monthly closing of development operations, including active construction projects and those in pre-development
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Construction to ensure accurate job cost reports and project budget updates
  • Review and analyze monthly job cost reports to identify areas for cost reduction
  • Monitor key performance indicators to ensure project success
  • Assist in vendor management and communicate with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payments
  • Process escrow payments and reconcile accounts
  • Assist in project closeout and transition from development to operations
  • Develop forecasts and budgets for development projects
  • Administer Procore Analytics and Procore Pay modules
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statement reporting for joint venture development projects
  • Monitor project liquidity and call for capital contributions as required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; MBA preferred
  • 12-15 years of general finance experience with emphasis on construction management and development accounting
  • Proficiency in Procore and Timberscan; experience with Sage ERP packages a plus
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills across departments and management levels
  • Experience managing multiple employees
  • CPA certification a plus
