Job Title: Dispensary General Manager

Ascend Wellness Holdings is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dispensary General Manager to lead our retail operations in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing retail store sales, operations, and responsibilities to deliver consistent, positive, and industry-leading customer experiences and drive profitable top-line sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, and staff the dispensary by attracting top talent with diverse skills.
  • Coach and develop associates to maximize their success.
  • Ensure onboarding and continued training and education are delivered.
  • Analyze key business metrics, create action plans, and gain buy-in from the team.
  • Lead team communication, including weekly manager meetings and monthly team meetings.
  • Manage P&L, driving sales growth while controlling expense budgets.
  • Direct workforce management activities.
  • Direct inventory activities, resolving discrepancies in accordance with state law.
  • Oversee operational execution, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure technology solutions are working as designed.
  • Enforce loss prevention and security policies.
  • Become an expert in state-specific cannabis laws and regulations.
  • Develop and drive internal compliance controls and processes.
  • Ensure employees are up to date on regulatory changes.
  • Foster positive relationships with key regulators, inspectors, and law enforcement personnel.
  • Ensure required state and company reports are executed on time.
  • Lead customer loyalty and engagement efforts.
  • Ensure visual standards are set according to company direction.
  • Direct customer engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate promotions and loyalty programs.
  • Oversee product buys from wholesale partners.
  • Ensure website and live menu are up to date and maintained.
  • Lead change and innovation in a fast-paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has supervisory responsibilities, including:

  • Manages and motivates staff.
  • Trains, directs, and appraises staff.
  • Creates daily work schedules.
  • Plans and organizes workload and staff assignments.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.

Competencies:

  • Demonstrated success managing P&L responsibility.
  • Knowledge of state-specific cannabis laws and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Treats people with respect and integrity.

Education, Experience, Eligibility, and Training:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor's degree and over five years of leadership experience in a high-volume retail sales environment.
