Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Tech to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a Patient Care Tech, you will provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional. Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients with their daily needs, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic patient care, including bathing, mouth care, and changing linens
- Observe patient responses and report any adverse reactions or concerns to the Registered Nurse and Physician
- Assist with vital sign measurements, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
- Perform range of motion exercises and assist with physical therapy as needed
- Collect and transport specimens to the lab for testing
- Apply oxygen therapy and perform electrocardiogram (ECG) tests
- Assist with wound care and urinary catheterizations
- Deliver menus, prepare patient meals, and remove trays
- Answer phones and address caller's needs in a courteous and timely manner
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- STNA (State-tested Nurse Assistant) or completion of HCA training course with Certification related to acute care setting, or a Nursing Student who has completed first semester of an acute care hospital-based clinical experience
- 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical setting
- BLS certified by American Heart Association
