Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to engage with a leading organization in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the afternoon shift in Transmission Assembly and Machining as a Controls Engineering Specialist.
- Develop and enhance control systems and machinery utilizing Factory Information Systems (FIS) data.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve equipment performance challenges.
- Coordinate resources to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
- Provide training and support to manufacturing staff and plant electricians.
- Integrate control systems with IT frameworks such as FIS, Error Proofing, QWX, and QTS.
- Utilize FIS plant monitoring software to analyze equipment cycle times.
- Oversee project installations and reprogram equipment for engineering modifications.
- Maintain program backups for machinery and automation systems.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or a Bachelor of Science preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Controls Engineering within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in PLC logic, controls, and programming with Siemens and Modicon systems.
- Strong background in production-related controls and troubleshooting automation issues.
- Familiarity with CNC/Motion control systems and knowledge of ABB/FANUC robotics is advantageous.
- Understanding of international electrical and safety standards.
