Swim Team Assistant Coach Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the head coach in developing and implementing thorough, age-appropriate workouts that focus on technique, endurance, and stroke development.
  • Participate in structured practices and help record workouts and track daily attendance.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including swim meet arrangements, team performance, and parent communication.
  • Coordinate and execute swim team competitions and meet registrations, and record times and collect relevant data at swim meets.
  • Engage with parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment.
  • Assist with swim team social event planning and participate in coach training opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment for swim team participants.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of competitive swimming experience, with collegiate experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of swim coaching experience, with USA Swimming and YMCA coaching credentials preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in swim skills and communicate effectively with swimmers and parents.
  • Enthusiastic and dynamic presence, with good communication skills.
  • Certifications in CPR for Professional Rescuer, AED, and First Aid, or willingness to obtain.
  • Twenty-one (21) years of age or older preferred.
