Overview:

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients and healthcare professionals through integrated medication distribution and clinical services.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice pharmacy.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Hospital Pharmacy or completion of a PGY1 residency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and evaluate physician's medication orders to ensure appropriateness based on patient-specific factors.
  • Compound and dispense medications as prescribed, adhering to departmental protocols and legal regulations.
  • Engage with patients during the dispensing of ambulatory prescriptions to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Identify, prevent, and report Adverse Drug Events as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive patient medication profiles and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide counseling to patients regarding their medications.
  • Deliver drug information and support to the healthcare team.
  • Supervise and mentor supportive personnel within the department.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new staff members.
  • Act as a preceptor for pharmacy students, residents, and interns.
  • Participate in ongoing pharmaceutical education to meet departmental performance standards.
  • Comply with established internal controls for the department.
