Leadership Opportunity
The Medical University of South Carolina Health is seeking a Medical Director to lead its emerging EDS Institute. This individual will oversee all clinical responsibilities of the EDS Institute, providing clinical and administrative leadership for the organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medicine, leadership experience, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered clinical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation of a clinical platform to provide needed clinical consultation, care, and services for the EDS patient population.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with clinical departments to expand clinical providers and drive quality care for complex clinical populations.
- Partner with the EDS Research Director to drive all aspects of a comprehensive EDS Clinical and Research platform at MUSC Health.
- Provide oversight for the EDS Specialty Concierge Clinic at MUSC and specialties contained within the institute.
- Support the recruitment of clinical providers and onboarding.
About the Opportunity
The Medical University of South Carolina Health is a leader in clinical care and research for EDS. We have established an EDS genetic registry, which will enable large-scale population screens not possible anywhere else. Our newly designated hEDS genetics laboratory includes an innovation station that provides a think-tank setting for training future scientific leaders and healthcare professionals.
