Job Summary
Established professional working as a member of a research unit or project team. Scientist with scientific or technical area of expertise. Full responsibility for the development, implementation of procedures and processes in the field of chemical synthesis, biotechnology, microbiology, analytical development, chemical engineering, PAT, Data Management. Has impact on own team and closely related work teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates scientific/technical leadership at project level by taking lead role in scientific decisions for complex scientific problems.
- Plans and analyzes experimental lab work (scheduling, design, safety measures, coordination with associated services).
- Collects, summarizes, analyses interdependent and complex data and takes conclusions based on data, and makes presentations, as appropriate, to disseminate best practice throughout the function.
- Leads meetings and cross functional project teams as assigned.
- Key representative of the team in group and project team meetings. Involved in customer meetings and should develop customer relationships.
- Develops and coaches 1-5 lab technicians. Mentors junior team members.
- Anticipation, evaluation and implementation of trends and innovations in the area of expertise to deliver better performing solutions.
- Gives input to decisions for implementation of new technologies.
- Manage hazardous waste in areas where they are accumulated.
Requirements
- Bachelors, or Masters in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Analytical Chemistry, PAT
- 5-8 years in a Senior Scientist role in a manufacturing environment, lab, preferably in a chemical manufacturer.
- Ability to take on new challenges and support a culture of continuous improvements and problem solving.
- Actively works as a member and leader of cross functional work groups.
- Understand needs of Operations and QC and works to foster open communication of results.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range for this role is $78,400 - $117,600; specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location, and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.
