As a(n) Mainframe Systems Engineer within PNC's technology division, you will play a crucial role in our operations.

Job Profile

This position is primarily based within PNC's operational footprint. Responsibilities will necessitate regular office presence or fieldwork, with some tasks eligible for remote execution.

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, and deployment of mainframe system software components across multiple environments. You will also provide technical assistance to management information systems and end-users while mentoring junior personnel.


Your responsibilities will include general platform support, automating repetitive tasks, troubleshooting, resolving issues, and participating in on-call duties.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize z/OS, SMP/e, and Mainframe JCL, along with System Utilities and other emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrate programming proficiency in languages such as REXX, CLIST, SAS, Cobol, ASM, and Python.
  • Possess knowledge in supporting tools like CA-7, CA-OPSMVS, and various Broadcom & BMC solutions.
  • Exhibit familiarity with Syncsort, ISPF, Unix System Services, and other relevant technologies.

Job Description

As a Mainframe Systems Engineer, you will apply your expertise in solution design and support while consistently addressing customer needs. You will leverage your technical knowledge and industry experience to design, construct, and maintain infrastructure technology solutions.

Your role will involve:

  • Developing software components and hardware for projects that align with business strategies.
  • Independently addressing common issues and updating applications with the latest technology.
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects, developers, and other personnel to achieve project goals.
  • Analyzing customer technological needs and providing ongoing support.

Work Experience:
