Position Overview:

We are in search of a knowledgeable Insect Science Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work both autonomously and collaboratively under the guidance of a Principal Investigator on projects related to product optimization, claims development, and product effectiveness. The role involves delivering timely data packages to support regulatory submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will foster and maintain relationships with external collaborators and thrive in a dynamic small business environment.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with external partners to advance projects through various phases of research and development.
  • Designing, executing, and interpreting experiments to address specific research inquiries.
  • Developing and implementing bioassays to assess the impact of active ingredients on insect and crop pests in both laboratory and field settings.
  • Supporting insectary operations and managing various insect cultures.
  • Collecting, organizing, analyzing data, and generating reports using diverse software tools.
Required Qualifications:
  • The preferred candidate will possess a degree in Entomology along with 2-4 years of relevant experience, although all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
Essential Skills:
  • Fundamental laboratory skills, including analytical weighing, sample preparation, treatment application, insect culture maintenance, and test evaluations.
  • Proven ability to operate safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with conducting field trials, controlled environment chamber tests, and laboratory bioassays.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to work effectively in a small team setting to achieve collective objectives; ability to share technical knowledge and support team development.
