EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a state-recognized certified nursing program and/or successful completion of a competency evaluation program that meets state standards.
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must fulfill state-specific certification criteria and hold an unrestricted C.N.A. certification.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- A minimum of six months of experience working as a C.N.A. in a healthcare setting.
CREDENTIALS:
- Current CPR certification as mandated by the client facility; additional health screenings as required by specific facilities and/or regulatory bodies.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Various client facility settings with potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to ATC policies and procedures.
- Follows nursing policies and procedures of the client facility.
- Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Effectively communicates relevant information to appropriate personnel.
- Documents patient care as assigned, following facility protocols.
- Implements the patient's care plan as directed.
- Provides personal care services to patients as required.
- Measures and records vital signs according to facility standards.
- Records patient intake and output as assigned.
- Enhances competency through participation in continuing education and meets state-specific requirements.
- Delivers patient care in a respectful, non-discriminatory manner that acknowledges cultural diversity and age appropriateness, ensuring autonomy, rights, and dignity are upheld.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
