Geisinger Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician I to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician I, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families. This is a full-time position, working 36 hours per week, with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and support, including vital signs, wound care, and mobility assistance.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring a smooth patient flow.
- Process and transport specimens, including blood and urine samples, to the laboratory for analysis.
- Perform point-of-care testing and maintain equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to process changes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and families on health-related topics and disease management.
- Assist with clerical duties, including scheduling, data entry, and record-keeping.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience (Preferred)
