We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team at Saint Xavier University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing primary care to student-athletes, ensuring their health and well-being during practices and competitions.
Key Responsibilities- Primary Care for Student-Athletes: Provide medical attention to student-athletes, including injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Medical Coverage for Practices and Events: Ensure medical coverage for scheduled practices and home events, including providing first aid and emergency care when necessary.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student-athlete injuries, including daily injury reports and follow-up forms.
- Prevention, Treatment, and Rehabilitation Strategies: Develop and implement prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation strategies for athletic injuries, including coordination with athletic staff and medical professionals.
- Rehabilitation Coordination: Coordinate rehabilitation programs for student-athletes, including physical therapy and other medical interventions.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer, including administrative tasks and special projects.
- Bachelor's Degree: Possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as athletic training, exercise science, or a related field.
- NATABOC Certification: Hold current certification as an athletic trainer from the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
- Illinois Licensure: Be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Illinois before the start date.
- Experience: Possess at least 2 years of experience as an athletic trainer at the collegiate level.
- CPR and First Aid Certification: Hold current certification in CPR and first aid, meeting the education minimum standards of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
