Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Tractor Technician to join our team at Dayton Freight. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of tractors and trailers.


Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines and transmission systems
  • Test and repair electrical systems, including wiring and circuitry
  • Develop skills to become proficient in the repair of all major power and drive train components
  • Effectively and efficiently perform PM inspections and services, per DFL policy and time standards
  • Able to repair, adjust, and align suspension systems and brake systems
  • Maintain the tire maintenance program, per DFL policy
  • Perform service calls, per DFL guidelines or individual location guidelines
  • Wash and fuel equipment when necessary
  • Perform vehicle road tests to ensure quality repair service is performed, if qualified
  • Perform other maintenance duties or assignments, as necessary

Requirements
  • Posses a valid Driver's License
  • Basic math skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Able to pass a drug screen
