About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Reston Limousine. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of diesel engines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical, air conditioning, air brakes, and computer diagnostics.
  • Conduct DOT safety checks on vehicles.
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Work under limited supervision using written or verbal instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Identify multiple projects and prioritize work to maximize truck utilization.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively at various levels to obtain and provide information needed to accomplish goals.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, emission control systems, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical, air conditioning, air brakes, and computer diagnostics.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Previous experience doing preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Strong mechanical skills and the ability to problem-solve.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • Dedication to maintain the highest standard of safety in all aspects of the job.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Working outdoors with exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, and other outdoor environmental conditions, constant standing and walking, climbing, working from heights, and lifting to 75 lbs.
