About the Role

Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. is seeking a highly skilled Fund Accountant to join our Direct Lending business, Cerberus Business Finance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial records of several funds in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately prepare and review monthly Net Asset Values (NAVs) through month-end reconciliations, trading profit and loss statements, and accruals.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements for several funds, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Contribute to the preparation of year-end audited financial statements and related footnotes for several funds.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the products traded and processes utilized within the Fund Accounting group.
  • Communicate directly with third-party administrators to ensure seamless operations.
  • Interact with various departments, including the Front Office, Technology, Operations, Investor Relations, Legal, Tax, and Financial Reporting.
  • Respond to investor relations information requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage and modify accounting and financial systems, procedures, and processes as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of Public Accounting (Audit - Financial Services) experience or a mix of public and private experience.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Knowledge of accounting issues and structures associated with private equity funds, including capital allocation, waterfall, and management fee calculations.
  • Experience with fixed income products, particularly originated loans, bank debt, and CLO structures, is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Wall Street Office and Visual Portfolio Manager software is a plus.
  • Strong accounting technical knowledge is a plus.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word) is required.
