Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role:
As a Senior Windows Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for providing top-tier system administration for client and server systems. You will have total ownership of the Windows environment and be responsible for maintaining IT security posture according to organization requirements. You will also manage rigorous patching schedules for all system software and firmware, as well as maintain, monitor, support, and upgrade the infrastructure environment as needed. Additionally, you will lead enterprise base work initiatives and projects, supporting systems and applications of high complexity with multiple concurrent users. You will plan and execute projects and tasks as required by the customer, integrating solutions with other applications and platforms based on requirements. Furthermore, you will work with engineers to provide recommendations for improvements and evaluate future technologies to make recommendations for software and hardware upgrades. Finally, you will ensure that IT system security baselines are met and security improvements are implemented across the server and client environment.
Requirements:
This role requires six years of experience in determining information technology effects on the organizational structure and determining the ability that IT can support/meet organizational goals. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline is also required. Alternatively, with a Master's degree in the fields described above, four years of experience are required. With a PH.D. in the fields described above, three years of experience are required. Experience working with Hypervisors, Virtualization Production Clusters (Ovirt), and Windows server hardware/software is also necessary. Moreover, experience managing and maintaining Active Directory, as well as knowledge of building systems for clients and servers, is required. Experience managing VDI infrastructure, preferably Microsoft VDI solution, understanding of licensing structures for Microsoft products, and experience with Backup solutions are also essential. Lastly, a strong automation experience, software deployment, and configuration management solutions for multiple environments are required. The candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Desirable Skills:
Automation and Load Balancing Experience, experience with CAC / Smart Card authentication solutions such as Centrify in an Active Directory Environment, experience managing and maintaining database clusters, preferably Microsoft SQL cluster and Percona XtraDB/MySQL cluster are desirable skills.
