Your expertise will help ensure the reliability and performance of our systems, enabling us to achieve our mission of making humanity a multi-planetary species.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and analyze avionics enclosures for electronic components on various spacecraft
- Collaborate with electrical engineering teams to design rugged printed circuit board systems
- Perform thermal and structural analyses of avionics designs
- Develop engineering drawings and manage product configuration throughout the product lifecycle
- Create test plans and manage testing and qualification of avionics products
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electro-mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in design of electro-mechanical avionics assemblies, static structural, modal, random vibration, and thermal analysis
- Experience with Steinberg or Engelmeier solder fatigue, FEA tools (ANSYS preferred), 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E preferred), and GD&T implementation and analysis (ASME Y14.5)
- Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary team and dynamic design environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience with recent versions of Creo, Windchill, ANSYS, ICEPAK, and Sherlock
- Familiarity with aerospace industry standard structural analysis methods and environmental testing
- Knowledge of avionics reliability mitigations and thermal and structural analysis of avionics enclosures and PCBA components
