We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Amedisys, Inc. as a Hospice Care Specialist. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals in need of hospice services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care services to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as feeding, toileting, and transferring.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals for patients, as assigned.
- Perform homemaking and other environmental services, such as cleaning and laundry.
- Observe and report any changes in patient status to the primary nurse.
- Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care.
- Assist patients with prescribed exercises, as instructed by the nurse or therapist.
- Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant, as per state certification/registration requirements.
- CNA experience within the last two years. If it has been more than two years, you must complete another training and competency program before providing services.
- Must be able to successfully pass the competency program of the care center.
- Current CPR certification.
