Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Recreation Aide to join our team at Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department. As a Recreation Aide, you will be responsible for conducting games, special events, arts and crafts, and other group activities at our County recreation area.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct games, special events, arts and crafts, and other group activities for children and adults
  • Assist with event planning and coordination
  • Provide excellent customer service to participants and visitors
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Some experience in leisure activities or working with children
  • Experience utilizing personal computers, including Microsoft Office Suite and Vermont Systems Rec-Trac
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, and climbing
  • Valid Florida Driver's license and ability to maintain said license during employment
  • Pass a Level I background criminal background investigation
Working Conditions

The Recreation Aide will work in a fast-paced environment with variable schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed in the event of a hurricane, major storm, or natural disaster.

The employee must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity. The employee must also be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and participants.
