Job Summary

The Interior Designer/Space Planner will be responsible for creating and implementing interior design and space planning strategies to ensure the successful completion of projects. This role will involve preparing designs, editing specifications, and conceptual estimates for interior work, repair, and/or renovation of government, airport, and commercial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare designs, quantity calculations, diagrams, and final working drawings for interiors of aviation and/or federal facilities.
  • Compile data, provide elementary design computations, and assist with preparation of internal design plans and renderings.
  • Research and recommend interior design products and materials.
  • Develop and select color, finish, and materials.
  • Recommend new ideas, formulas, and methods.
  • Lead construction administration activities through site visits and review of schedules.
  • Maintain conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or similar field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Interior Design consulting or similar field.
  • National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Revit and other 3-D visualization software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards, and visual, written, and oral communication skills.
