Position Overview

Pillen Family Farms, a family-oriented agricultural enterprise based in Nebraska, is dedicated to the humane treatment of livestock and the welfare of our team. We manage the transportation of approximately 2 million pigs each year, ensuring that every aspect of our operations reflects our commitment to family values.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently transport pigs of various sizes using well-maintained, company-provided vehicles, 4-5 times per week, to designated destinations.
  • Navigate a diverse range of routes, including local farm-to-farm deliveries and longer hauls to clients, primarily within the regions of north central Nebraska and south central South Dakota.
  • Adhere to strict animal handling and biosecurity protocols during loading and unloading processes to safeguard the welfare of our livestock and maintain farm health. Note that drivers are not required to enter farms during these operations.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule and demonstrate comfort in driving under winter road conditions, as well as the ability to cover long distances between stops.
  • Enjoy the benefit of being home on weekends and some weeknights.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a clean driving record and a flexible schedule, with the ability to drive safely in winter conditions.
  • Physical capabilities include walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and using hands/tools as necessary.
  • Demonstrate a keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety in all aspects of the role.
  • Comply with all biosecurity, safety, and animal welfare regulations.
  • A valid Class A CDL and a Motor Vehicle Record Report are required.
  • Experience with fifth wheel trailers is preferred.
