Nutrition Counselor Role at Children's National Health System

We are seeking a skilled Nutrition Counselor to join our team at Children's National Health System. As a Nutrition Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing essential services to our clients, including health screening, basic nutrition education, and referrals for healthcare and other services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify health risks and provide tailored nutrition education to clients.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans to promote healthy eating habits and prevent chronic diseases.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
  • Provide education and resources on healthy eating, meal planning, and nutrition-related topics.
  • Screen and refer clients to other services as needed, such as healthcare, social services, and community resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in nutrition counseling or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nutrition or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including children and families.
  • Knowledge of nutrition-related policies and procedures.
