Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technician Senior to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our operating room team, you will be responsible for providing expert support and assistance to our surgical team before, during, and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team in preparing for and conducting surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Provide expert support and assistance to the surgical team during procedures, including handing instruments and supplies to the surgeon and holding retractors.
  • Coordinate the configuration of equipment to provide ease of use and ensure that all necessary equipment is available for procedures.
  • Assist with the allocation of equipment for procedures on a daily basis and ensure that all equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized.
  • Participate in the training of RNs and other disciplines in the scrub role and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Actively participate in meeting patient safety goals and promoting quality and safe patient care.
  • Clean and maintain the operating room and assist with room turnover.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years of current acute Operating Room experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other incumbents of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Surgical Technology.
  • Video, orthopedic, and all other needed equipment to do the above surgeries.
