Review work orders to ascertain job status, authorization, limitations, and detailed descriptions of issues and anticipated serviceability. Conduct tests on electro-mechanical systems to diagnose known or suspected faults using various techniques (AC or DC).
Disassemble electro-mechanical systems, documenting parts identification, configuration, and condition.
Perform cleaning of electro-mechanical assemblies as necessary utilizing a range of methods and equipment, including but not limited to: parts washers, steam cleaners, caustic tanks, and glass bead machines.
Measure or note appropriate replacement components. Accurately requisition required items from inventory, with supervisor approval.
Replace or repair worn or malfunctioning mechanical or electro-mechanical components, including but not limited to: bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, clutch rotors, tachometers, fans, end shields, etc.
Retest reassembled electro-mechanical systems to ensure proper output and functionality. Complete necessary documentation for each task accurately and promptly.
Operate specialized repair and testing tools and other equipment as required. Adhere to all safety protocols and utilize appropriate protective gear (especially eye and ear protection).
Lift, tighten, adjust, and secure heavy items as part of job responsibilities. Maintain a tidy and organized work area as instructed by the supervisor.
Assist fellow technicians or shop personnel in skilled or unskilled tasks as directed by the supervisor or shop manager.
Perform additional skilled or unskilled tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent. Basic mechanical understanding. Ability to comprehend, execute, and retain various skill-related training and operational and safety procedures as demonstrated by the supervisor.
