Position Overview:
The Dining Room Server plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to guests in a courteous, attentive, and efficient manner. This position involves receiving and delivering guest orders while ensuring payment collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the layout and organization of the restaurant, lounges, and room service, along with the responsibilities of each role.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of menus and current specials.
- Serve guests with all food and beverage needs in a polite and efficient manner.
- Pre-bus tables by clearing soiled dishes after each course.
- Familiarize yourself with the operation of the Point of Sale (P.O.S) system.
- Handle cashiering duties, including closing checks and preparing end-of-shift paperwork.
- Execute opening and closing procedures and side-work duties as per assigned station rotation and established checklists.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables and side stands.
- Ensure beverages are consistently replenished (coffee, tea, soda, water, lemonade).
- Break down trays of soiled dishes and linens in accordance with established standards.
- Proactively upsell food, beverages, and promotional items to guests.
- Receive and deliver food and beverage orders while collecting payments.
- Strive to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
- Flexibility to work long hours as needed.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently.
- Capability to stand for the entire shift.
- Ability to navigate the dining area while carrying full trays of food and beverages.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests.
- Strong listening skills to understand and clarify concerns raised by guests and staff.
- Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards.
- Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag.
- Adhere to company standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations.
- Maximize productivity and assist in identifying and implementing solutions to problems.
- Effectively handle issues, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving them as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as requested by management.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
