Job Summary:

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for driving the community van or bus and assisting in managing social activities for residents in and out of the Life Plan Community. This role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide transportation to residents for activities, appointments, and other outings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide transportation to residents for activities, appointments, and other outings
  • Assist residents with boarding and leaving the bus, securing wheelchairs, groceries, and packages
  • Coordinate transportation for events, activities, appointments, and other activities
  • Responsible for the general upkeep of the vehicle, including fueling, preventative maintenance, and cleaning
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols as dictated by LSS policy, federal and state regulations, and standard practice

Qualifications:

  • Driver's License for transporting 16 or more passengers (including the driver): Class C License (or a Class A or Class B) with a Passenger Endorsement
  • DOT Compliant Physical
  • Must be CPR certified
  • Experience as a bus or van driver preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and written skills for reports

Working Conditions:

The Transportation Coordinator will be required to work beyond normal working hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary. The employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and may be subject to emotionally upset residents or family members.
