We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at US Foods, Inc. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to work independently.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining fleet road equipment, ensuring compliance with trucking regulations. The role requires documentation of repairs and maintenance logs, performing preventative maintenance, and handling road service calls.

Job Description

As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, and more.
  • Performing preventative maintenance within company standards.
  • Completing documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
  • Handling road service calls and performing road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 years of commercial Diesel mechanic or reefer experience.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Competency Relating to Equipment Repairs.
  • Ability to Comply with EPA and OSHA Regulations as Pertaining to the Shop and Fleet.
  • Ability to Read and Understand Technical and Service Manuals.
  • Ability to Manage Multiple Functions Simultaneously in a Fast-Paced Environment with Minimal Supervision.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 per year, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, and more. You will also have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and may be required to work overtime when needed.
