Job Summary

The City of Corinth is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Specialist to operate specialized vehicles and equipment in the maintenance of City utilities or water/sewer systems.

About the Role

This role involves performing skilled work under general supervision, operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, dump trucks, bulldozers, and tractors. The ideal candidate will have two years of experience operating heavy motorized vehicles and maintenance equipment, and possess a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Operating specialized vehicles and equipment used by the Public Works Department in the maintenance of City utilities or water/sewer systems.
  • Maintaining vehicles, tools, and specialized equipment according to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Hauling materials and transporting vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks.
  • Performing traffic control activities as needed.
  • Responding outside of normally scheduled work hours in response to special events, natural disasters, emergencies, or critical incidents.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two years of work experience operating heavy motorized vehicles and maintenance equipment.
  • A valid Texas CDL or obtain one within one year of hire.
  • Water and Waste Water Operator licenses from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) or obtain them within one year of hire.

Benefits

The City of Corinth offers competitive salaries, with an estimated annual salary range of $44,500 - $53,300. In addition, employees receive excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and holidays.

Working Conditions

This role requires moderate physical work, lifting and carrying up to 80 pounds, and working indoors and outdoors at various locations throughout the City.
