Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineering Manager to join our team at MillerKnoll. This role will be responsible for managing facilities infrastructure and teams at assigned sites to achieve operational objectives, including safety, quality, reliability, cost, continuous improvement, and employee morale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply sound project management and engineering principles to ensure efficient and effective facilities operations.
  • Coach employees on facilitating and managing change to drive a proactive culture and ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
  • Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal legislation.
  • Manage annual department operating budgets, including expense and capital expenditures.
  • Ensure complete and cost-effective compliance with all current governmental regulations and engineering codes.
  • Provide leadership and insight into new or emerging engineering concepts and technologies.
  • Responsible for employee selection and training, as well as analyzing work force skill sets or trades to adjust or balance to support changing work requirements.
  • Assist employees in developing new skills to increase their contribution to the business and improve processes.
  • Support and/or develop programs/initiatives to ensure 100% uptime of production equipment.
  • Work closely with site leadership teams to provide cost-effective services that enable them to achieve their goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management Engineering or other technical discipline.
  • Building/Mechanical Contractor License or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in facilities, engineering, or maintenance roles, including two years in a leadership capacity.
  • Technically competent with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Awareness of governmental regulations in safety, environmental, and emergency response.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Ability to demonstrate coaching skills and change management skills.
  • Adept at resolving conflict in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and understand issues and make appropriate decisions.
