Purpose of Position:

As a Mechanical Engineer at Gentex Corporation, you will play a crucial role in advancing the automotive market and driving innovation. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting program management and design engineering in the development of customer products and test equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems to support mechanical and electrical engineering projects, adhering to the Advanced Project Cycle.
  • Coordinate the development of tooling and prototype parts to support new technologies and innovations.
  • Lead mechanical creativity teams to drive design excellence and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to critical customer coordination and ensure seamless project execution.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve mechanical engineering benchmarking to ensure industry-leading standards.
  • Support and maintain advance engineering projects approved by management, ensuring timely completion and quality.
  • Provide conceptual design support and hand-built prototype concepts to drive innovation.
  • Ensure technical support to Gentex launch process and maintain mechanical engineering patent protection coordination.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, and company safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain high levels of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
Position Demands:
  • A 4-year related engineering degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be capable of applying format engineering principles and have a good understanding of automotive design requirements and practices.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and feasibility is a plus.
  • Basic PC skills are preferred, and previous experience in optic design is required.
