Position Overview

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Engineering Discipline Lead for immediate employment in our upstate New York offices.

The selected candidate will be part of AECOM's Transportation Business Line, engaging in a range of design-build civil engineering projects for various clients, including local, state, and federal agencies.

Projects will span across multiple regions, and while some travel may be required to visit project sites or clients, the primary focus will be on office-based responsibilities.

The successful candidate will collaborate with team members to achieve project objectives while adhering to company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in specialized areas.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of engineering principles across diverse assignments.
  • Independently resolve technical challenges and represent the organization in discussions.
  • Plan and coordinate work while addressing critical issues and new concepts.
  • Employ advanced techniques and adapt theories from related fields.
  • Supervise and guide team members on overall objectives and policy matters.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NYDOT / NYSTA standards.
  • Familiarity with local, municipal, and state clients.
  • Experience in design-build projects and knowledge of local contractors.
