Position Overview
- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Employs the nursing process to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and accurate documentation.
- Ensures adherence to NMHS policies and standards as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator.
- Educational Role:
- Facilitates patient and family education while serving as a resource for current staff and new hires.
- Participates in essential training sessions to support the onboarding of new staff members.
- Communication Skills:
- Maintains effective communication with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Conducts daily team meetings on each unit to assign responsibilities and identify team members for the shift.
- Delegates tasks to ensure compliance with Environmental of Care (EOC) standards.
- Customer Engagement:
- Exhibits a compassionate, approachable demeanor towards patients and other stakeholders.
- Utilizes communication tools to keep patients and families updated.
- Ensures that staff members adhere to behavioral standards and utilize communication tools effectively.
- Professional Development:
- Maintains professional competence by staying informed about evolving trends in nursing practice.
- Participates in mandatory reviews and continuing education opportunities within the department.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Adheres to the requirements set forth by regulatory and accrediting bodies.
- Possesses a valid Registered Nurse license.
Qualifications
Licensure:
A valid Registered Nurse license is required.
Educational Background:
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing is necessary.
